OUR PROGRAMS

Our Programs

Our Programs Include:

Peacebuilding and Conflict management

We collaborate with communities to prevent, mitigate, and resolve violent conflicts via open dialogue, trust, and continuous engagements with all peace stakeholders. We place a premium on fostering change at all levels, including the individual, organization, programmatic, and systemic, through co-creation, co-development, and collaboration for long-term peace.

Youth, Women and Social Groups

The Network seeks to find and equip youths, women, and special groups in the region to serve as peace ambassadors and change agents. We further advocate for and promote institutional and programmatic changes that will allow for a more adaptable, process-oriented, and locally-made peace approach that will be more likely to find acceptance on the ground.

Research, Innovation and Co-creation

We conduct research, training, incubation, and archiving of historical artifacts/agreements (Peace Accords) and promote heritage conservation to help communities realize the need for long-term peace. This program integrates with other programs to ensure an evidence-based approach in the program's design, implementation, and evaluation; the program conducts research, analysis, documentation, and publication of challenges, successes and best practices.

Culture and Heritage

We strive to protect heritage and culture as a foundation for sustainable peace since culture plays a critical role in identifying the root cause of a conflict and determining steps to ensure long-term peace and security. We strive to unite people through cultural heritage, which promotes democratic values and tolerance. This would be in tandem with cross-cultural acceptance and understanding of sustainable peace. Nepcoh Trust archives key heritage monuments in form of photos/paintings, and artifacts to preserve them as tools for peace promotion.

Resilience building and Development

We strive to strengthen issues surrounding the humanitarian-development nexus by collaborating with both local (state/non-state actors) and international partners. We strive to promote greater continuity and synergies between humanitarian response and mid- to long-term development initiatives in order to strengthen early recovery, recovery, and resilience, as this has a cascading effect, particularly in resource-based conflicts. The programme also aims to strengthen and support a locally adopted and accepted peace process.

North-Rift Programme Kenya

The North Rift has been a crucible of conflict since precolonial times. One of the reasons is a history of marginalisation. The region is largely populated by nomadic pastoralist communities and competition for scarce resources every so often leads to violent ethnic clashes.

...
Marsabit Corridor-Kenya

The project responds to the recent intensification of violence in the decade-old conflict in Marsabit County and aims to prevent a further escalation in the context of the 2022 Kenyan general elections, while laying the foundations for a longer-term peacebuilding engagement

...
Coastal-Region Kenya

Coastal Kenya is the region of Kenya bordering the Indian Ocean. It includes some of Coast Province and the southern part of Northeastern Province including Lamu, KIlifi and Mombasa. The project aims to address peace issues in the region.
